The Curator’s Notebook An invitation
A reading, a new deck, a little understanding. People come to Tarot for different reasons. We would love to know what brings you to the cards, and what you would like to discover next.
We are listening as we plan the next chapter of Simply Tarot. Your thoughts will help shape the readings, learning materials and resources we develop.
As a thank-you for your time, we have three prizes to give away: our original deck, a year of Unlimited and a personal Turning the Year reading for 2027.
Answer only the questions relevant to you.

What would you like to see next?
Perhaps you enjoy a reading when something is on your mind. Perhaps you are learning to read for yourself, exploring the imagery or finding your own way to connect the cards. You may move between all of these.
The survey asks about the readings you enjoy, the resources you use and what matters when choosing a deck. We are also interested in your thoughts on automated and AI readings, and on resources you can print and use at home.
You do not need to be an existing customer, own a deck or have bought anything to take part. Answer the sections that apply to you and skip those that do not. Honest answers are useful to us, including when you prefer free resources or have no interest in a particular product.
How to take part
- Share your thoughts. There are 14 research questions. Allow around 5–8 minutes and answer only those relevant to you.
- Choose your prize draws. Select the prizes you would like to win. You can enter for one, two or all three.
- Leave your email address. We will use it to administer your entry and contact you if you win. Submit the survey once per person.
Extra chances in each selected draw
Your survey submission gives you one entry in each prize draw you select. You can earn up to three extra entries in each selected draw:
- Subscribe to Simply Tarot emails for one extra entry. Tick the optional newsletter checkbox below the email field in the survey.
- Follow Simply Tarot on Instagram for one extra entry.
- Follow Simply Tarot on Facebook for one extra entry.
Already subscribed or following? Those count too. Use your subscribed email address and provide the relevant social account details in the survey so we can check.
These actions are optional. You can enter through the survey alone, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. Your opinions and purchasing history do not affect your chances.
We will select the winners on Monday 16 November 2026 using a random-number generator and contact them by email.

Prize draw terms
1. Promoter and eligibility
The promoter is Simply Tarot, The Offices, 57 Newtown Road, Hove, East Sussex BN3 7BA, United Kingdom. Contact: patricia@simplytarot.com.
Entry is open to people aged 18 or over who are resident in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Malaysia, Peru, South Korea, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, or one of the following European Union countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. The promoter, anyone directly involved in administering the draw and their immediate families cannot enter. No purchase is necessary.
2. Dates and entry
The draw opens on 2 November 2026 and closes at 11:45 pm GMT on Sunday 15 November 2026. Submit your survey response before the closing time. One submission per person. Duplicate submissions will not earn additional entries; the first valid submission will be used.
Provide a valid email address, confirm your eligibility and select the prizes you wish to enter for. Optional research questions may be skipped. Your opinions, purchasing history and amount spent do not affect your chances.
3. Entry weighting
A valid submission earns one entry in each selected prize draw. A maximum of three further entries can be earned in each selected draw: one for an email subscription, one for an Instagram follow and one for a Facebook follow. The maximum is four entries per person in each selected draw.
Existing subscribers and followers qualify on the same basis as new subscribers and followers. Use the subscribed email address and provide sufficient social account details to verify claimed actions. Only one bonus for each action is available, regardless of the number of accounts held.
Bonus actions must be completed by the closing time. The promoter will check claimed actions and include only verified bonus entries. If a bonus cannot be verified, the basic entry and any other verified bonuses remain valid. Withdrawing email marketing consent does not remove a valid basic entry. A bonus already earned through a valid subscription during the entry period will not be removed solely because the person later unsubscribes.
4. Prizes
- One copy of The Original Tarot House Deck, 2011 First Edition. The promoter will cover postage, packaging, applicable import duties, taxes and handling charges up to a combined total of £30, excluding the value of the deck. If delivery is unavailable or these costs would exceed £30, the winner will instead receive their choice of twelve months of Simply Tarot Unlimited or a personal Turning the Year reading for 2027, at no charge. The winner will not be asked to pay a contribution or import charges. The delivery arrangement and any necessary prepaid import charges will be confirmed before dispatch.
- One twelve-month Simply Tarot Unlimited membership, starting when activated. No payment details or automatic renewal are required. If the winner already has a paid membership, the promoter will arrange twelve prize months without duplicate subscription charges.
- One personal Turning the Year reading for 2027, comprising Year Ahead and Chakra readings, interpreted by Jen and delivered by email as a PDF after the winner submits their chosen cards. It is for reflection and does not replace professional medical, legal or financial advice.
There are three winners and a maximum of one prize per person. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash. No purchase or payment is required to claim a prize. Prize delivery and any customs charges are governed by the explicit arrangements above.
5. Selection and notification
On Monday 16 November 2026, winners will be selected using a random-number generator. Each valid basic entry and each verified bonus entry will receive a unique numbered chance in the relevant prize draw. We will finalise and save each numbered entry list before selection, then use RANDOM.ORG to select a number from the full range. We will retain the numbered lists, a screen recording of the selections and the results as evidence of the random process. Only entry numbers, not names or contact details, will be entered into the generator. Separate draws will take place in this order: deck, membership, personal reading. Once someone wins, their entries will be removed from the remaining draws.
The promoter will email winners using the addresses supplied in the survey. Winners must respond within seven calendar days of notification. If a winner is ineligible, declines, cannot be contacted or does not respond within that period, a replacement will be drawn at random from the remaining eligible entries for that prize.
The deck will be dispatched, membership activated or reading delivered within 28 days of the winner accepting and supplying the information needed to fulfil the prize. Postal transit times vary by destination.
6. Winner information
To demonstrate that the prizes were awarded, the surname and country or county of each winner will be available on request to the promoter for 30 days after all prizes have been awarded. Winners may object to this information being made available or request that less detail be shared. The promoter may still provide evidence of the awards to the Advertising Standards Authority if required. Any additional publicity, photograph or testimonial is optional.
7. Administration and platform notice
Only genuine individual entries are accepted. Automated submissions, invented identities and attempts to obtain more than the permitted entries may be excluded. Technical problems do not automatically extend the closing time. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or Facebook. To the extent permitted by applicable law, entrants release Instagram and Facebook from liability arising from this promotion. The promoter is responsible for administering the draw and awarding the prizes.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without affecting any mandatory rights or rights to bring proceedings available to entrants in their country of residence.
Survey privacy information
Who is responsible
Simply Tarot, The Offices, 57 Newtown Road, Hove, East Sussex BN3 7BA, United Kingdom, is responsible for your information. Our ICO registration reference is ZC209263. Contact patricia@simplytarot.com with questions or requests about your data. This notice supplements our website privacy policy.
What we collect and why
We collect your survey answers, email address, eligibility details, selected prizes and any social account details you provide. We use these to understand Tarot interests and purchasing preferences, improve our products and resources, administer the prize draws, check bonus entries and contact winners. A deck winner will also be asked for a delivery name and address; other winners will be asked only for the details needed to provide their prizes.
Your email address and eligibility details are needed to administer an entry. Newsletter subscription and social follows are optional. Please do not include health information, private circumstances or other sensitive personal details in free-text answers.
Our lawful bases
We rely on performance of the prize draw terms to administer entries, select and contact winners, and provide prizes. We rely on legitimate interests to analyse feedback, develop our services, prevent duplicate or fraudulent entries and maintain proportionate evidence that the promotion was run fairly. We balance these interests against your rights and expectations. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
We rely on your consent to send email marketing. Providing an email address for the draw does not itself subscribe you. If you already subscribe, your existing preferences continue to apply. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using an unsubscribe link or by contacting us, without losing your basic prize draw entry.
Who handles the information
Mailchimp hosts the survey and manages email subscriptions on our behalf. Authorised people administering the research and draw may export responses to a spreadsheet. We check claimed follows against the relevant social platform. Delivery or membership providers receive only the information needed to provide a prize. We do not sell your survey answers or provide entrants' contact lists to other businesses for their own marketing.
Mailchimp is based in the United States and processes survey and subscriber information there. Its service providers may also process information in other countries. Mailchimp states that it participates, through Intuit, in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension. Its Data Processing Addendum also provides for Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum where applicable. You can read about these arrangements in Mailchimp’s international transfer guidance and Data Processing Addendum, and find provider locations in its subprocessor list. Contact us if you would like further information about the safeguards applying to your information.
How long we keep it
Mailchimp stores your survey answers and can associate them with your contact record when you provide an email address. Closing the survey does not delete those answers. We will delete or anonymise detailed survey answers within three months of all prizes being fulfilled. This applies to responses stored in Mailchimp and exported copies, including answer-derived fields or tags that are no longer needed. We may retain anonymous research findings.
We retain a minimal entry, verification and prize-award record for twelve months after all prizes have been fulfilled, including evidence of the random draw. Records needed for a specific complaint or legal obligation may be retained for longer until that matter is resolved or the applicable requirement ends.
For mailing-list subscribers, a record that you completed the survey may remain in your Mailchimp engagement history while you remain subscribed. The participation history is distinct from the detailed answers covered by the three-month period above; the three-month limit is our retention policy, not an automatic Mailchimp deletion setting. We review subscriber information for continued relevance and do not retain all survey answers indefinitely simply because someone subscribes.
Email subscription records are managed separately for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal suppression record so that we respect that choice. Research findings may be kept without identifying individuals.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the processing and applicable law, you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a portable copy of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent for marketing at any time. These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exemptions.
If you ask us to remove information needed to administer your entry before the draw, we may no longer be able to include you. Withdrawing marketing consent alone does not withdraw your entry. A random-number generator is used to select winners from the numbered entries. Names and contact details are not supplied to the generator. Eligibility and bonus claims are checked by a person.
Please contact us first if you have a concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority where applicable.
